This space exists so you can focus solely on facilitating. You create the experience, guide your group, and sustain the process. We handle the logistics to ensure everything runs smoothly. Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions from facilitators before booking.
1. What exactly does the rental include? You rent the entire space privately for your group. This includes accommodation in yurts in the forest, three freshly prepared, balanced, and healthy meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), a daily coffee break, use of the lounge equipped with meditation chairs, cushions, sound system, and TV, and access to open spaces, the forest, and a waterfall for your activities. You bring your program, materials, and equipment.
2. What is the maximum capacity and how is the accommodation arranged? The minimum rental is for 12 people. Our ideal capacity is 20 people in 10 double yurts, with the possibility to increase up to 32 by using the bunk beds (+4) and the dormitory (+8). You decide how to accommodate your guests, and we prepare everything according to your instructions. It is an intimate, not massive format, designed to allow for true immersion.
3. What is and isn't this place? The concept is known as GLAMPING. The rooms are yurts, each equipped with beds, sheets, blankets, a comforter, and a towel. The bathrooms are just steps away. There are 8 showers, 8 toilets, and 6 sinks divided in two: one side for men, the other for women. All showers have hot water. It's not a hotel, but a space designed to be in nature without sacrificing comfort. The nights are quiet, and the temperature may drop at sunset; however, with a good jacket and warm pajamas, you won't be cold. If your participants are looking to disconnect, this place is perfect.
4. What is the climate like and what should my guests bring? We are at approximately 2,400 meters above sea level (7,874 ft) in a pine and oyamel fir forest. The climate is mostly temperate during the day, however when the sun goes down, the temperature drops. The rainy season (summer) starts at the end of May and ends at the beginning of November. During this season mornings are generally sunny and the weather is warm, in the afternoon it rains for a while and in the late afternoons/evenings the temperature drops a bit. The temperature during the day ranges between 13-23°C (55-73°F) on average. Starting in November, the dry season begins and winter arrives, which lasts until the end of February. During the day it is warm, but as soon as the sun sets, the temperature drops, so it is necessary to come prepared with a thick jacket and warm pajamas. The average temperature ranges between 5°C and 22°C (41-72°F). From March to May (spring) there is no cold or rain, during the day it is hot (25-30°C / 77-86°F) and nights are very pleasant (11-15°C / 52-59°F), although it is always advisable to bring something warm for the evenings. Ask your guests to bring: layered clothing, a warm jacket (Nov-Mar) and raincoat (May-Oct), boots or sneakers with good traction for dirt roads, headlamp or flashlight with batteries, thermos or water bottle and personal toiletries.
5. How does the food work? Our kitchen is a central part of the experience. Everything is prepared fresh, with local and balanced ingredients. For each paid night we include 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and a coffee break. If you require additional meals, they are quoted separately. We offer an ovo-lacto-vegetarian menu, however we can adapt to vegan diets, with animal protein, gluten-free or allergies if you let us know at least 7 days in advance. You set the meal times according to your program, however breakfast is served from 8:30 am and dinner is served no later than 8:00 pm.
6. Can I visit the space before booking? Yes, in fact it is highly recommended. We just need to confirm the date you want to visit us and we will be happy to show you around: you will be able to see the inside of the yurts, measure the hall, walk the trails and clear up all your logistical questions. That way you can sell your retreat with total confidence.
7. How do I book and what is the cancellation policy? To reserve your date we need a non-refundable deposit of $10,000 MXN (plus VAT if you pay by transfer or deposit). The remaining balance is due 3 days before your event. Date changes with 30 days notice, a new date will be reserved according to availability. Changes with less than 30 days notice are considered a cancellation.
8. Can I bring musicians, staff or extra equipment? You can bring extra staff who will be added to your occupancy and will pay for a full stay. If you need it, bring your sound equipment, instruments, workshop materials and subtle decoration that does not damage the furniture. We handle the kitchen and lodging 100% ourselves to guarantee service. Outside food vendors are not allowed. If necessary, if your program requires the service of an external provider, please tell us a little about it so we can review the logistics and make sure there are no operational issues.
9. Are there any free stays or discounts? For stays of 2 nights or more, we offer one free stay for every 15 paying participants. For stays of 1 night, we can offer one free stay for the organizer in groups of 18 or more participants. For stays of 3 nights or more, we can apply an additional 5% discount.
10. What is the account number to make my payment? The account for deposits or transfers is: BBVA Beneficiary: Camino Rojo SAS de CV Account: 0119203540 CLABE: 012457001192035400 If you make a transfer or bank deposit, don't forget to add VAT.
11. Can you issue an invoice? Yes, of course... if you make your payment by transfer or bank deposit you will need to add 16% VAT. Once you have made your payment, you must send us the receipt along with your tax information. Invoices will only be issued within the same month in which the payment was received.
12. What are the non-negotiable rules of the space? Considering that many groups come seeking a clean, oxygen-rich environment, VISION QUEST IS A NO-SMOKING SPACE. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE EXCEPTIONALLY, EXCEPTING THE PARKING LOT. If anyone is caught smoking on the property, in the hall, or in the yurts, we reserve the right to charge an additional $5,000 cleaning fee. To preserve the energy of the place and its harmony with the forest, we do not allow alcohol or recreational drugs on the premises. Although we love animals, we do not allow pets. We have free-range chickens and large dogs, which, while very friendly with people, can be quite territorial with other dogs, so we want to avoid any problems between them.
13. Is there internet? Although cell signal reaches some areas of the property, the idea of being in the forest is to be able to disconnect from networks and everything that distracts us from the present moment for a few days. However we know it is important to stay in communication, and we also know that there are times when the group needs to be connected, or requires WIFI for a presentation, music, etc. This is why we have a WIFI network available in the dining hall and in the studio.
